Polish entrepreneurs are invited to a Supplier Day with Hitachi Energy

Equinor, together with Polenergia, is organizing another meeting for prospective suppliers of components and services for its Bałtyk II and Bałtyk III offshore wind farm projects. The event will be attended by Hitachi Energy, the main supplier and contractor for the electricity part of both farms, which is looking for potential partners for its supplier chain in offshore wind.

Polenergia and Equinor, which are jointly developing three wind farm projects in the Polish exclusive economic zone in the Baltic Sea with a total capacity of almost 3 GW - OWF Baltic I, OWF Baltic II and OWF Baltic III - invite representatives of Polish companies - potential sub-suppliers on June 15 to Lodz.  Details of the meeting and agenda will be provided at a later date.

Supplier's Day is another meeting with domestic companies that want to join the supply chain for offshore wind farm projects being developed by Equinor and Polenergia. This time, the event will be entirely devoted to future cooperation with Polish entrepreneurs on a specific component of the wind farm, namely the power infrastructure.  Its prime contractor (Tier 1) for the Bałtyk II and Bałtyk III projects will be Hitachi Energy, which will be responsible for designing the electrical power part of the two wind farms, performing system analyses, supplying products, equipment and electrical power systems for the offshore substations. Hitachi's scope of work also includes the turnkey construction of the onshore substations, as well as the connection of these facilities to the grid.

Collaboration with a leading international energy company, whose HVAC (High Voltage Alternating Current) technology is crucial for the efficient transmission of energy from sea to land, is a great opportunity for Polish companies to join the chain of suppliers and sub-suppliers across Poland. That's why today the organizers of the Supplier Day encourage you to book a date and attend the meeting.

Its purpose is to create a platform for dialogue between an internationally recognized supplier and domestic sub-suppliers whose products and services can be used in the design and execution of the electrical installation of both farms - from the wind turbines to the point of connection with the National Power System at the Słupsk-Wierzbięcino substation.

The company is looking for suppliers of components and services for, among others, such highly specialized products as: construction, electrical and installation works, commissioning, MV and LV cables, 36kV busway, auxiliary transformers, high-voltage apparatus, MV, LV switchgears and cable cabinets, AC/DC switchgears, gas and transformer extinguishing systems, monitoring (CCTV) with access control, high-power container generators, MV/LV container stations, steel structures for a for apparatus.

The Hitachi Supplier's Day event is unique in the country, as it is the first time it has focused so strongly not only on companies from the Pomeranian and West Pomeranian provinces, but also on the potential of inland suppliers.

The meeting will discuss, among other things:

- investment schedule

- innovations and competencies sought

- standards and requirements for suppliers

- business potential for development in the offshore wind industry.

At special thematic sessions, Hitachi Energy experts will talk individually with suppliers about specific purchasing packages.

The meeting is organized by Equinor, Polenergia and Hitachi Energy, the supplier and contractor for the electrical power part of the Bałtyk II and Bałtyk III offshore wind farms.

The meeting formula proposed by Equinor and Polenergia appealed to the market after the success of the first such event - the Supplier Day held in January this year, which involved representatives of Siemens Gamesa - the preferred supplier of turbine generators for the Bałtyk II and Bałtyk III projects.
